About me

Thank you for visiting my page! Let me start by introducing myself. I’m Aukje Rijpkema and in 2019 I founded Dutch Data Smarts, LLC with the idea of helping small businesses create reliable, safe and achievable data strategies.

Since then, I graduated from Washington University’s ‘Data Analytics & Data Science Bootcamp’ in 2020 and I have been working with much satisfaction and gratitude for Clayco, Inc. A design-build company head-quartered in Chicago.

Why this webpage? For now, it will serve as a elaborate resume, but my goal down the line is to start consulting as I originally intended. I’m still learning every day, so for now I’m going to make myself available in my spare time to not-for-profits that help figuring out how to keep up with changing times and the more and more important role of leveraging data to obtain actionable, result driven insight

Manager, Data & Analytics – Feb 2022 – Present · 2 yrs 9 mos

  • Managed the implementation and strategy of the reporting and analytics data layer of our Enterprise Data Hub (Snowflake), ensuring data integrity and optimizing data utilization across the organization.
  • Utilized SQL extensively to replicate ETL in DOMO, achieving seamless logic migration to EDH/Snowflake for our most prominent data sources.
  • Led the growth of my team to a size of 8 (on- and offshore), fostering a collaborative and high-performing data and analytics unit. Part of which is a group of data scientists who have successfully initiated projects in Safety and Cash Receipt Predictions, delivering valuable insights and enhancing our organization’s predictive analytics capabilities (NewMetrix, DataIku, Python).

Business Intelligence Specialist – Sep 2002 – Aug 2013 · 11 yrs

  • Involved in several IT upgrade and implementations projects.
  • Role: Project manager. Applied the Prince II methodology successfully. On time, below budget meeting all requirements.
    — SAP BI 7.x upgrade project from 3.5 to 7.2
  • Role: Business Warehouse team lead. Ensured business continuity with regard to all critical SAP BI reports by testing, trouble shooting and resolving any issues that came up.
    — SAP ERP upgrade from 4.5b to ECC 6.0
    — System Integration of a second company (after acquisition) into SAP our ERP system.
    — SAP BW system upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5.
  • 24/7 support for SAP ECC production system one week every 2 months.
  • Created and maintained approx. 100 business critical Management and Analytical Reports using SAP Business Warehouse (Bex Analyser and Web application designer), delivering insight, KPI’s and targets.
  • Reporting areas: Financial Accounting (FI/AA), Controlling (COPA, CCA, PS, NTW, COB), Purchasing, Material & Inventory Management, Sales and Distribution, Quality Management.

Senior Application Engineer – Sep 2002 – Sep 2006 · 4 yrs 1 mo

  • Created the go-live runbook during the SAP ECC 6.0 upgrade project.
  • Team member of the SAP Query implementation project, successfully migrated all existing Oracle based reports to SAP Query.
  • Migrated MES system (approx; 30 users, based on MS Access) that supported production, tracking and tracing of Consumable products to a SQL server (2000) based environment, significantly improving performance.
  • Enhanced and maintained the above mentioned MES system for many years (using MS Access and MS Visual Basic).

Romac Industries, Inc. , Seattle, WA

Oracle DBA and ERP Specialist – Apr 1998 – Aug 2002 · 4 yrs 5 mos

  • Independently upgraded from RDBMS 8.0.6 to a partitioned database configuration (8i).
  • Integrated the UPS shipping system with Romac’s oracle database in order to speed up shipping procedures and accuracy (being the first one in the wider Seatltle, WA area to do this).
  • Assisted in testing and implementing Oracle Applications (initial implementation of 10.7 and upgrade to 11.0.3).
  • Oracle Database Administrator: Monitored, maintained, ensured back-ups, patched, tested and tuned the Oracle Database (versions 7.3.4, 8.0.5 and 8.1.7) on a Unix (Sun Spark Solaris 2.6) platform.
  • Oracle ERP specialist:Patched, researched, analysed, troubleshoot and solved any and all error messages and problems that came up with Oracle Applications (releases 10.7 and 11.0.3).
  • Worked with Oracle World Wide Support on appr. 200 TAR’s.
  • Modules included: Manufacturing (INV, BOM, WIP, MRP, CST, PUR, ENG, CAP), Financials (AR, AP, GL) and Order Entry (OE).
  • Analysed business processes and integrated solutions into the Oracle ERP System.
  • Created over 200 Reports using SQL-worksheet, SQL-plus and MS-Access, MS Visual Basic, Oracle Report Designer and MS Excel to deliver these reports and manipulate the data retrieved.
  • Oracle Database Administration 8i certified.
